I Know What I Know

An illustrative piece from 2012. This is actually Gemma Ward but as with all my portraits- they're so stylised they rarely look like the source material. I prefer to concentrate on natural exaggeration and distortion than accuracy in all my drawing. I feel staying too true to the subject often stamps out the excitement of letting the pen/ pencil/ charcoal do what it will.
